From a tent at Boomtown to your doorstep — how a glitter obsession became a business.
Back in 2018, our founder Jess spent an entire weekend at Boomtown Fair covered head-to-toe in glitter she'd mixed herself from craft supplies. By Sunday, strangers were queuing at her tent asking where to buy it.
The problem was clear: most glitter on the market was either too harsh for skin, riddled with microplastics, or both. Jess started researching cosmetic-grade alternatives and connected with a pigment manufacturer in Birmingham who could produce plant-based, biodegradable glitter at scale.
Every glitter we sell passes EU cosmetic regulation testing. We never stock craft glitter labelled as "cosmetic" — if it hasn't been tested, it's not in our shop.
All orders ship in compostable mailers with paper tape. Our pots are aluminium (infinitely recyclable) and our pouches are made from recycled ocean plastic.
We produce in small runs so nothing sits in a warehouse for months. Fresher batches mean better colour payoff and cleaner shimmer.
Since launching in 2019, we've supplied glitter to over 40,000 customers across the UK, partnered with festival organisers, and collaborated with makeup artists for London Fashion Week. Our eco range now outsells conventional glitter two to one — proof that sustainability and sparkle aren't mutually exclusive.
We're based in Bristol, dispatch Monday to Friday, and offer next-day delivery on orders placed before 2pm. Got a bulk order or bespoke colour request? Drop us a line.
